VP of Research & Development

Amitabha Kumar is an award-winning scientist and technologist from the building materials industry. He has expertise in the development of new processes and materials using cements, ceramics, composites and polymers. Prior to, Dr. Kumar was Technical Manager R&D at JH Research USA, a division of James Hardie Building Products, the largest manufacturer of fiber cement board. Prior, Amit was Vice President, Research and Technology at EarthShell Corporation. Dr. Kumar has previously led research on new ceramic binders and materials using red mud waste, fly ash, rice husk ash and slag for low cost housing; he has supervised the manufacture of slip cast and formed special refractory products, and he served as a scientist on India’s Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institutute. Dr. Kumar has a B.Tech in Ceramics and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Solid State Science from Penn State.
